What is the newest way for seniors to exercise? Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. And today, I'm gonna show you and talk to you about the newest way for seniors to exercise. All right, I've got four e-bikes right here that are great for seniors. They are linked in the description below if you want to check those out, which leads us into what is the newest way for seniors to exercise. Well, I already gave it away, and it's electric bikes and or electric trikes. E-bikes are becoming hugely popular in the over-55 senior demographic. And there are a lot of reasons why. A big reason is because with the electric assist, it's allowing seniors to get back on and ride. And if you've lost leg strength and it was challenging to ride a two-wheel bike or a tricycle, now with the assistance of the motor, it's gonna be possible for you to get back on and start riding again. And if you don't believe me, check out our YouTube channel. We've got other videos of riders over 55 jumping back in on an e-bike and an e-trike, and it's expanding the possibilities for them for some that maybe thought they were never going to ride a bike before.
Now, the reason why, of course, bike riding in and of itself is a great low-impact exercise, but what's so great about an electric bike is you can dictate how much assistance you get from the motor, how much assistance you get or don't get from the motor. In the case of all these sixthreezero e-bikes, they have five levels of assistance. One, two, three, four, five. One gives you the least amount of assistance when pedaling, and five gives you the most amount of assistance when pedaling. So, if you want to gradually build your leg strength, you can start at level five and have the bike assist you fully. In that sort of level, you won't need to do that much pedaling. The motor will do a lot of the work. But as you start to move your legs and build your leg strength, you can start to bring the assistance level down. And by the very end, maybe you're only on a level one or you even get back to wanting to ride without the assistance or you utilize it differently throughout your ride. So on hills, you use level five. On flat ground, maybe you use nothing, or maybe you use one or two. It's totally up to you. But the benefit is, is that you can get back out riding again and get exercise. And for anyone that says, E-bikes are not exercise.
That's completely not true. There are so many seniors now taking e-bikes because it's a way for them to get back on. And like I said, build leg strength. It's like having a spotter at the gym. The electric assistant is that spotter. It can keep the two wheels moving and keep your legs moving. And you dictate how much spotting you need from that motor, right? You can turn it up, or turn it down. Take on small hills, take on big hills, increase the assistance, decrease the assistance. This is why they're becoming so hugely popular with seniors out there because there are so many ways you can utilize the motor to get exercise. And like I said, you dictate how much exercise you want to get. If you don't want to work very hard on a given ride, use a lot of the assistance. If you want to sweat it out and work your legs, turn the assistance way down low or off. And that's another beautiful thing about e-bikes you don't have to use the motor. You can turn it off and it will function just the same way as a standard bicycle. So if you're looking for a great way to get exercise, and build some leg strength, I believe that electric bikes are one of the newest best ways for seniors over the age of 55.
