This Is The EBIKE Feature All Seniors Love! If You Are an Over 60 Senior, You MUST SEE This!

The e-bike feature that all seniors love. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. And today I'm going to tell you about the number one feature all seniors love on an e-bike.All right, I've got three e-bikes that are all great for seniors, the EVRYjourney and the Simple Step Through. Now, I have done demonstrations at senior centers. I have done test rides at senior centers and senior communities. I've also done a lot of test rides at our office in San Clemente. Now, there are many different things seniors love about e-bikes, including the idea that you can have pedal assist while you're pedaling to aid you when you go. Also helps you get up hills. In addition to that, the throttle is a feature seniors love because if you want to rest your legs when out for a ride, you can press the throttle and your body doesn't have to do any work. Now, all of those things, the motor, the battery, those are all great, right? Those are standard features on e-bikes.

But the number one feature that I've seen all seniors love is a step-through frame. Now, you can see on the Simple step-through, these are the lowest possible step-through height of any e-bike on the market. It's 11 inches. So you can step your foot over and get on easily and simply. And safely, which is very important, you put your foot through and you slide back onto the seat like this. Now, I've never seen a senior who I've done test rides with not find this and feel like, wow, this is great and easy. The reason is that many of the riders, the senior riders that I've done demonstrations for or test rides for, have some amount of limited mobility with lifting their leg. Now, granted, there still could be enough mobility to do the old leg swing over, but a lot of times I see them catch their foot up here, and even the most athletic people over the age of 60, in my experience, don't have the same movement they had in their joints when they were in their twenties, thirties, or even forties. Right.

So this low step through is a breath of fresh air because many of the bikes that came are coming off of requiring a much higher step over or the rear leg swing, right? And so this brings a smile to their faces because the step through and the slide-on make getting on and off an e-bike so much easier and safe, especially when you have an electric bike that's heavier than a standard bike. You want to ensure that when you're getting on and off that you can have complete control of the bike. You don't want to tip it over because for many, when you get this bike leaning and going, it's hard to correct it and bring it back. An e-bike is going to weigh about 50 pounds to 80 pounds on average. You know, a standard bike is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 to 50 pounds. So there is a difference in weight. So having an electric bike that's easy to get on and off and easy to control is a very important feature that many seniors love. Now, there are other features that the riders that I've done test rides with love, like some like more power than others, and some like different types of throttles. But the one thing I feel like all of them have loved is the step-through frame, hands down. Now, the EVRYjourney has a step-over frame, but not quite as low as the Simple step through over here, right? So You have to figure out for your body what is best, but I do know that getting on and off, if it's simple and easy, is more inviting, or it makes it more inviting for riders to use their e-bike.

When it becomes difficult to get on and off the bike, what I commonly see is it ends up sitting in the garage for years and never gets used. So again, it's a breath of fresh air for many of the riders to see. That something with this low of a step-through exists. So again, these are the Simple step through and the EVRYjourney.
