This EBike is Easy to Pedal without Electric! An Electric You Can Use with or without the Electric

An electric bike that's great for pedaling, without the electric. Hey everyone I'm Dustin and I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and Ebike industry. Today I'm going to take my Evryjourney 500 Watt Ebike out for a ride. This is an awesome electric bike. If you also don't want to pedal or if you like to be in pedal assist and still use your legs, this is a comfortable upright riding position. It's also got a forward pedaling design so your feet are out in front and you can see my back upright, my arms are relaxed. We've also got 26-inch by 2.125-inch tires on this ebike, so it rolls smoothly and you can still pedal if you don't want to use the assistance. A lot of e-bikes have these big fat tires. It's a lot harder to use them in a low-level pedal assist or without the pedal assist at all. So today we're going to take this out for a ride. I'm going to show you how you can still enjoy this without the motor and how I utilize the motor throughout the ride to use it for key hills and things of that nature. So come along with us. All right, so let's go off and running here. Like I said I'm going to start without the motor. I'm going to keep the display on, but I'm not going to use the assistance. So here we go. Now I'm in gear four so I can shift it down and you can see I have no assistance and it rides just like a bicycle. Let's see, there we go. So again if you want to be able to ride and enjoy trying to find the good gear for me here there we go your e-bike but you still like to pedal. You want something with a normal-sized bicycle tire, like I said the bigger fat or smaller tires are going to be hard to pedal without using the motor. And obviously, pop that up a little bit. Having the gears is nice as well. Now where you feel it on a knee bike is the added added weight going up hills. That's when you know it's nice to have the assistance. So we're going to come up to our first hill right here, and I'm going to start to put this into level five. Now I'm 200 and 30 pounds, so I need level-five assistance up the hill. Let's see. Okay go ahead and make my turn. So now I'm in two. Put it in five here we go. Now you can also play with your gears up the hill. I'm actually in first gear, so it's gonna be as easy as possible to pedal right now. A lot of pine cones on the street here.

Now it's a pretty big hill should have probably charged my battery, but that's okay. Alright. Now once you get to the flat ground, really start to feel the motor kick in. Now I'm going to dial my assistance back that we're to the top here and like I said if you want to take that down to zero, go ahead and do it. All right, now we're cruising. You can see I'm at level zero on the pedal assist and we can just enjoy this nice downhill. All right, I'm gonna make a U-turn here, we're gonna head back in this direction all right now. I have a slight incline here. I'm gonna shift down into first and I'm gonna use a little pedal assistance. Let's do three. Oh yeah, makes it that much easier. Oops now again, if you want to keep your legs moving, it's a great bike so comfortable, maybe you want to take a complete break. I can just use the throttle and we're off cruising. You can see I'm up to 15,16. I'll back off a little bit. Gotta make sure you're always aware of cars. All right so obviously we don't have to use any kind of pedaling right now, you can just coast so you can see it's beneficial to have a bike that you can pedal like a regular bicycle because there's a lot of opportunity to not use the assistance and it's great to try to preserve the assistance so you can just get more range and go farther away from home and trust that you have enough power to get you back. So now we have a nice straightaway. I'm going to shift up to 7th. I'm gonna dial my assistance back to zero and we can just cruise like it's not even electric. I'm gonna try to shoot. You can see my feet here; I'm definitely pedaling. Now we're on a very busy street here so always be safe and take the proper precautions.

All right we'll go down this way and we got another downhill. We have a very hilly terrain here in San Clemente. Got a car okay, all right. Go ahead and make my turn. Now I've got a little uphill. I'm gonna go ahead and put that into just three. Give me a little boost up this hill. I don't need it to be super powerful just enough to make it easy. And I'm still in 7th gear actually, and you can see I'm pedaling. Let's adjust that a little bit now if it gets a little steeper and you want to again work less hard, I'm going to go ahead and put this into five. Ah, yeah, there we go gives me that little boost. Just makes these hills so much more enjoyable. All right now, I'm gonna dial it back. Put it into zero, go ahead, and shift. I want to put it into, let's see I'm in 5th. Right now. I have no assistance. I dial back, yeah, there we go, three is good. And we're just cruising all right. We got a hill coming up here now you can see I'm just pedaling under my power, going at about ten nice casual pace, not working too hard all right. We have a hill coming up right here. If you can see this, that's pretty substantial. This is when you're gonna want your level five. This is pretty steep. This is where you want the bike to do the work. And like I said here, I'm going to show you this is not a long hill, but it's steep. Let me shift down into first, there we go, and we're up now. We got to turn this way. All right, we got another hill here, still in level five. This is the hill we started out going up. Now we're down below. Alrighty.

And now we're on flat ground. I'll put it back down to zero. Oops shift to about third gear, getting some exercise so you can see how you can utilize the assistance on and off get exercise. Don't have to use the assistance all the time, and it's nice because you can pedal as you want to or don't want to. I'm in second right now all right, so that's a good little leg workout, all right. Finishing up my ride with no assistance. So it's good. The EvryJourney is a cool, fun e-bike. If you want to do some pedaling, I mean, you don't have to pedal. You saw how I utilized it on all the hills. For any questions or comments please reach out to us. theteam@sixthreezero.com, or call us at (310) 982-2877.
