The Best Family Bike - An Electric Bike Rickshaw That Can Fit Up To 7 Family Members!

The best family bike you've got to see. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today I'm going to show you the best family bike. Honestly, I can't stop smiling when I talk about, ride, or look at this thing because it is so much fun. All right, so this is the EVRYjourney Rickshaw from Sixthreezero. It is a tricycle with a passenger seat, and you can add a row of seating here with this hitchback. Now, this doesn't come standard. This does, but you can buy this separately, and this is truly the ultimate family bike. You can fit up to two adults or three kids on each of these seats. The recommended max weight for the back seat is 100 pounds, up to 200 pounds on this seat. So you could legitimately get three of your kids here, three of your kids. And I'll tell you what, I've done it. I've gotten three kids here, me driving, seven of us total, and we go out for rides. It is incredibly fun. Now, this is our mid-drive option. We also have a front hub motor. So there are two options you can use to get this. It is electric. So this is an electric Rickshaw trike, 750-watt motor with a 21 amp-hour battery. So, you can get up to 20 miles an hour without passengers.

With passengers, you're going to have a lot of weight, which might be restricted to say 16 miles an hour. And you have a throttle here that you can press. And I'll do a quick demo here in a second, and this can go without you pedaling at all. Or you can pedal and utilize the pedal assist to power you while you go. So incredibly stable, you can see that, you can that  fit up to two adults on these seats as well. I'm 5'10", 230 pounds. I can fit here. I've had my wife in this seat as well, and you could put kids on the back here. Now, traveling uphill with a full load, that's going to be challenging. But flat ground is no problem at all. I've made tons of other videos on this with other riders and passengers. So you can go ahead and check that out on our YouTube channel as well if you want to see that. All right. In addition to that, you've got hydraulic disc brakes that stop this thing easily. You've got storage under both of these seats here. You've got a latch that folds down. You can store all your belongings on rides. You have a seatbelt on here as well, so you can put your passengers in. And it's incredibly easy to steer. Now, if you've never ridden a tricycle before, there might be a little bit of a learning curve. Once you get the hang of it, and I'm going to demonstrate quickly, it's super easy and fun. Now, if you have the frame, if you just have the one seat on the back is 83 inches long. It's not much longer than a standard trike.

Now, if you add the additional seat, it does get to be a little bit long 109, 110 about 112 inches, so that is one thing to consider. I have taken this in bike lanes, bike trails, and all over town. I have never been restricted or yelled at, or ticketed for ever riding it anywhere. It's just really cool and a lot of fun, and honestly, take the whole family out, go for a bike ride. The other thing, too, is that you can install three-point harnesses on here if you have little children, and you don't feel comfortable with them just being buckled in with the seat belt, you can do the three-point harnesses on both seats, keep them safe, go out for rides, and put some music on. Cool way to go to school, go to the local pool, the park, you name it. All right, I'm gonna do a quick demo just here in the parking lot. Again, If you want to see other videos, I've got a lot of me out riding around town doing all sorts of stuff, but let me go ahead and just do a quick demo. And again, we have two different versions, the front hub motor or the mid-drive. The mid drives are more expensive, have more torque, better for climbing hills. But if you do primarily flat ground, the front hub motor will be just fine as well. All right. So you go ahead and power on. And from there, like I said, you can put this into level one, and then you can push the throttle, and we're off and running. And it's super easy to control.

the turning radius is great, and you can see with the hitch how easily the back seat swings around. Those back seats, the back row, also, the seats now do come with a foot plate. So that second row seating can have a foot plate option, also. Now let me demonstrate here as well, if you want to see me do some zigging and zagging through these cones. Now, the key to a trike is that you just have to get used to how they steer a little bit differently. Obviously, I have quite a bit of experience on a trike, but it's not too difficult, and you don't even notice. You can see how powerful if you want to accelerate. And you don't even notice, honestly, except for the length, the weight is hardly noticeable, and it steers so easily. The other thing on a trike, right, is you, it's a zero turning basically. So you can, you know, hold this and just do circles all around. And then if you don't, you can pedal. And it's got hydraulic disc brakes, which stop smoothly and easily, and the levers are super easy to pull. I'm telling you, if you have a family, you want to take them for a ride, this is like the ultimate family bike. It is so much fun. No better way to spend a weekend out riding with your whole family on one singular bike. You don't need multiple bikes anymore. All right. There it is, the EVRYjourney Rickshaw, the best family bike out there.
