Okay, so electric tricycles are becoming very popular. Lots of new models are hitting the market, and there are different motor locations that you can get. I've seen the mid-drive, like our SixThreeZero EVRYJourney in a front hub motor. You can also get motors mounted in the rear that I've seen.

Now, not to say any location is necessarily bad. They all have different benefits. But there is one major benefit to having the motor in the front hub, and it's something that pertains to basically the lifetime ownership of the product and also the maintenance.

And that is, should the motor ever go out... Let's say you've owned your tricycle for one, two, three, four, or five years. All of a sudden the motor is shot and you're thinking about how do I replace this? How do I get it working? The benefit of the front hub motor is, especially from SixThreeZero, all we have to do is send you a new front wheel. Now you can see here, the motor's contained in the hub. There's only one connection point right here, and I can actually unplug that and now it's disconnected.

And by simply unplugging that, I could take the front wheel off, remove it, swap it out with a brand new one, and you'd be back to riding again. So it's really very simple and easy. It's actually going to eliminate the need to take it to a shop or have someone else do it. Whereas if you're talking about a mid-drive motor which is contained in the frame or something in the rear, it's going to be a lot more complicated to do that swap out, replace the motor, and I'm guessing you're going to be charged at least a hundred, 200, probably $300 in some sort of installation fee, depending on what they need to do.

But I can say a minimum of a hundred dollars. A lot of bike shops in this day and age won't even touch a bike for less than 60 or a hundred bucks. So that's a big benefit. So now, this is something you could do at home yourself. And like I said, once you get it all put in, you would just line up the arrows here, and you would connect those and you'd be back to riding.

And you could actually even release the brakes. The brakes won't be affected at all just by swapping out the wheel. So it's just going to make this a product you can have for a lot longer time and something you could maintain, replace, with ease on your own.

So in summary, it's just going to be a lot more complicated to get it into a shop and get it repaired. It's going to cost you more money in the long run, should you need to replace the motor at any point.

Now, you may or may not have to replace the motor, but it's just one of those things to consider if you're going to spend over a thousand dollars. You want to make sure that the long-term ownership isn't going to be more expensive.
