Seniors & ETrikes! The #1 Concern Seniors Have When Buying an Electric Trike: Seniors Must See This!

The number one concern or complaint I hear seniors say when they're looking for an e-trike. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today, I will tell you the number one concern slash complaint I hear from seniors when looking for an e-trike. I've got two of our e-trikes right here, our EVRYjourney Rickshaw and our Simple Glide Fat Tire. If you want to come for a test ride, we are at 1046 Calle Rocoto in San Clemente, California. We also ship nationwide. All right. I've done a lot of test rides with over 60 riders, and looking for electric trikes. And the number one thing I hear a lot of them say is I don't want to look old. So there's this big concern that they're going to get an e-trike and it's going to make them look old or look like they're, you know, stricken to an e-trike and they can't be mobile. The other interesting thing is that our Simple Glide has this high back. 99 out of 100 people who get on this e-trike are blown away by how comfortable it is, and they love it. Now, I'm not making that up. Everybody who gets on, it's like, wow, it is comfortable. But I'm not ready for that or I don't want people to see me with this chair, because I'm going to look old or make me look bad.

 Now, my response to that is... Focus number one on the product that's going to suit you physically best, and also be something that you're going to enjoy getting on. If you're more concerned with how you look and perception, you may end up choosing the wrong product. The other thing, too about the high backrest is I ride this all the time, but it's going to be something you can use for years to come. So, I mean, if you're okay with spending a couple of thousand dollars, maybe in a few years, if the product you buy today doesn't suit you in one, two, three, four, five years, then, by all means, do that. But you also should be thinking about where you think your body will be in one, two, three, or four years. How long can you own this trike you're getting? As an example, our Rickshaw has a little bit of a higher stepover height.

So if you're barely getting your toe over, maybe that's not the right choice for you today because in two years, you might not be able to do it. Now, by all means, I wanna sell as many electric trikes as possible, but I'm also all about making sure everybody gets the right product that they feel comfortable with because I know from experience, that if you don't feel comfortable after you get that e-trike home and it's too much effort for you to get on or off, you're never gonna enjoy riding it. So again, if you get on something, like a Simple glide with a high backrest, and you sit down and you're like, this is comfortable, I enjoy riding it, but I look old, maybe think twice about that. Don't let your ego get in the way of actually choosing a product that you really will enjoy getting on and getting exercise on, regardless of how you look. Quite honestly, I think this looks pretty cool, and I think our over-60 crowd is harder on themselves and fearing the judgment more than other people are judging them. That's my take on it. So do what's right for you, do what's best for you. And you know what, if it's not a trike with a seat like this right now, it is something maybe like a Rickshaw or a more sporty electric trike, whatever it may be, just choose something that you will enjoy so you can get out there, enjoy the outdoors and utilize your trike for transportation and exercise.
