Speaker 1: All right, we're here with Roger. How old are you, Roger?
Roger: I'm 73 and proud of every year too.
Speaker 1: All right. He's got the sixthreezero Easy Transit, a foldable E-trikes. This was his first time riding a tricycle as an adult.
Roger: And it's to be my inaugural ride.
Speaker 1: And you've never ridden an E-bike before?
Roger: I don't think I have.
Speaker 1: Okay.
Roger: I've ridden on the back of an E-bike, but I haven't been the driver.
Speaker 1: All right. So first time on an electric bicycle product, right? You're what, five-seven?
Roger: Yeah, on a good day.
Speaker 1: Okay. About 150 pounds. So we've got the seat a little too high for him here. You can just do it yourself if you want. So you've got the clamp right there. Just loosen it if you can, and there you go.
Roger: I'd rather have a little lower than higher, so.
Speaker 1: There you go. Do you want to sit down and see how you like it?
Roger: Check out the level. That looks good.
Speaker 1: Now one thing I'll say too, is I saw you do the leg swoop around. The whole idea with this one is you have a low step through here.
Roger: Oh, a step through. Okay.
Speaker 1: Make that a little easier. How do the handlebars feel?
Roger: They're good. They're just about the right height.
Speaker 1: Okay, so no adjustment is needed?
Roger: No, I think these are fine.
Speaker 1: Okay. All right. So here's your display.
Roger: Okay.
Speaker 1: And we got your power right here. So when we turn it on, you're going to see your display come on.
Roger: Okay.
Speaker 1: So don't touch anything. This is your throttle, so when this has any number above zero, that will mean that your throttle can be used, okay? So for safety, I always recommend just keeping that at zero so you don't hit any buttons. You don't need to. Okay. This is driven in reverse. So should you ever need a reverse, you can flip that switch and use reverse. We're not going to use that right this second. On your right hand, you've got seven speeds, like a normal bike.
Roger: Oh, okay.
Speaker 1: Trigger shifter right here, so up and down. It's first now, which will be best to get going on.
Roger: yeah.
Speaker 1: And yeah, then you can adjust this, you can put the assist level up or down while you're moving, or while you're stationary it doesn't matter, either. The gears are like a bike, you don't want to shift until you're moving. And I'd say first off, why don't you just take it for a little spin to the end of the cul-de-sac here without the electric?
Roger: Okay. Just put this ... okay.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Roger: All right.
Speaker 1: Get a little hang of how it rides.
Roger: Good idea. Go for a ride. Rides like a dream.
Speaker 1: How does positioning feel? Are handlebars all good?
Roger: Yep. All at the right level.
Speaker 1: All right, so if you swoop around and come back the other way?
Roger: Okay.
Speaker 1: All right. First time on a trike. Okay. Now do you want to try pedal assist first or throttle?
Roger: Let's try throttle.
Speaker 1: Okay, so when it's in one, the throttle will be at full gauge. The way the power is dictated by the throttle is just how easy or soft you push the throttle. So just go ahead and really, yep. Don't thrust it, just easy. Yep.
Roger: All right.
Speaker 1: And just ease off the throttle when you're turning. Yeah, if you can just ease into it, you'll get a nice smooth ride out of it. Alrighty.
Roger: Let's see. Okay, now if I just want to go back to the pedal.
Speaker 1: So now you want to just shift that to zero? Put this in zero. Yep. Now you can just ride like a normal person. Yeah, sometimes it's better to just ride it normally for the tight turning.
Roger: Yeah.
Speaker 1: And then if you want, put it in one now and just give it the pedal assist one.
Roger: One. Pedal assist.
Speaker 1: Yep. Now pedal, it's going to kick in. Yep. Feel that?
Roger: Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1: Yep. Just turn the wheel, yeah, there you go. So yeah, when you do the pedal assist, it kicks in. You can coast a little, you have to get comfortable with it.
Roger: Yeah.
Speaker 1: Do you want to try to take it up the street a little?
Roger: Yeah.
Speaker 1: All right.
Roger: You know what? I think I'd rather do just all electric.
Speaker 1: Throttle or pedals?
Roger: Yeah, just all throttle.
Speaker 1: So you can do it right now.
Roger: So what do I have to shift, what do I have to change?
Speaker 1: You're good. As long as this is above zero, the throttle will work.
Roger: So ...
Speaker 1: There you go. There you go, as you get used to how much or how little to push on the thumb. Do you want to try taking on this hill right here?
Roger: Okay.
Speaker 1: So we can demonstrate the ... Not too bad, right?
Roger: No.
Speaker 1: Okay. Follow the lead. Lead the way, should I say.
Speaker 3: I love it, it's great
Roger: Do you want to try it?
Speaker 3: It's great. With a battery?
Roger: Pardon me.
Speaker 3: Is it electric?
Roger: It is.
Speaker 3: Oh, cool.
Roger: Yeah.
Speaker 3: Very cool. Good for you. That's fun.
Speaker 1: Thanks.
Speaker 3: I love it.
Roger: Okay, so how do I turn the motor on?
Speaker 3: That's great.
Speaker 1: Push the power in the middle.
Speaker 3: Come on, Chino.
Speaker 1: Yep. Now you're all powered up. Now just make about a half rotation and the motor will kick on. There you go. Look at this.
Speaker 3: Just the best. I love that. Now you need a dog to put in the basket.
Speaker 1: Right?
Roger: Just going to stop here and let this [inaudible 00:08:28].
Speaker 1: Okay. You're good, I'm coming. Turn the wheel, and there you go.
Getting a little easier as you get used to it.
Roger: Yeah. Yeah. Well, and the turns are a little tricky till you get used to it, but ...
Speaker 1: All in all smooth.
Roger: Smooth ride.
Speaker 1:So what do you think?
Roger: Well, this is perfect. This is perfect for old people who are a little uncomfortable on a regular bike.
Speaker 1: And the power, there's a lot of power, huh?
Roger: Well, I was just touching the throttle and it was going plenty fast enough, so how fast can this thing go?
Speaker 1: We capped the speed at 16.
Roger: That's pretty fast though.
Speaker 1: It's got a big motor just so it can take on hills. So, if we have riders over two-
Roger: Well, around here, that's important because this place is all hills. Some of them are pretty steep, very steep, so.
Speaker 1: So Roger lives in an over-55 community. Play tennis right over here. So he could probably throw his tennis rackets in and use that as a daily driver if he wanted. So there you have it. Roger's first time on the folding E-Trike, I think he likes it. He's going to go for another lap around the sun here and there he goes.
