E-Bikes & Bikes Customised to You
Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry and today I'm going to show you a commuter e-bike under $1,000. Stick around.
All right, so today I'm going to show you a commuter e-bike under a thousand dollars. But before I do, hit the subscribe button below. Stay in touch with us here at Sixthreezero, and be the first to know about all the new content we're putting out, giveaways we're doing, and of course new product releases. So let's say you're shopping for an e-bike right now, looking for something in the sub $1,000 range. You can look no further. Behind me, we have the Reach Your Destination from Sixthreezero, right now priced at $999, just under that $1,000 mark. And this is a really cool, really fun e-bike for a couple of different reasons. I'll explain why. And if you want to check out this e-bike, it's linked below in the description and it's on the Sixthreezero.com website.
Okay, now looking for an e-bike under $1,000, sometimes it can be hard to weed out quality versus non-quality. This is a value right here. We've actually been making the Reach Your Destination at Sixthreezero for several years now. One of our more popular bikes. It's an aluminum frame, it's got nice clean welds. You can see how beautiful the frame is. Also can accommodate varying heights, five feet to six feet, because of this unique frame. It's a unisex frame, so it's the same between men and women. We've got the matte black here, the navy here also comes in a teal, which you can find on the Sixthreezero website as well. Now a lot of e-bikes out there have fatter tires, becoming popular because people are traveling at really fast speeds. They like to have the fat tire or they think they need that fat tire. What we've done on the Reach Your Destination is these 1.75-inch tires, which we believe are great for commuting because you're going to have less drag, it's going to roll a little bit easier, and also it's going to have more pinpoint accurate turning.
Now you can see with the handlebars, they have a little bit of a kink in them to bring them closer to the rider's body, but they're not a full straight bar. But the beauty of this is they still allow for a comfortable seating position, which I'll show you in a second. But they can also turn and navigate very quickly. So for commuting, that's cool because you'll have control, you can turn as you need to, should you be in a bike lane or any situation like that, or you're commuting in a city, taking sharp turns or navigating different streets. And also with these 1.75-inch tires, as I said, they're going to roll really smooth. A huge advantage to that is if you're going to use low levels of pedal assistance, you're not going to have this big fat bulky tire that's going to be rubbing on the ground and it's just going to be more effort on you and the bike.
So you're going to get a longer range with this Reach Your Destination commuter e-bike. Because of the thinner tires, you're not dragging all that rubber on the road. So I like it for commuting because you're going to get the extended range, the easier steering, and they're going to roll smoother. So top speeds in pedal assist will be much easier to achieve. When people talk about e-bikes going 28 miles on the pedal assist, that's only true if you can power the e-bike to 28 miles an hour. If you're going to use this e-bike or any e-bike for that matter, the throttle usage, which this one has a thumb throttle here, which is nice for the commute as well if you want to give your legs a break, that's going to cap its top speed at 20 miles an hour. Anything above 20 will have to be in pedal assist.
So you'll shift it into pedal assist here, one, two, three, four, five. When you're at level five in pedal assist the top speed is 28 miles an hour in most places by law like here in California. But even getting to 28 miles an hour is not going to be easy. It's not like you just put it in pedal assist and all of a sudden you're hitting 28 miles an hour. So if you have a four-inch fat tire e-bike, I can tell you honestly if it's a 500-watt or even a 750-watt, getting to 28 miles an hour may not even be achievable. With these thinner tires, it's going to be much, much easier. So if you're on an open road commuting somewhere and you really want to push that pedal-assist top speed up to that 28, these thinner tires are going to be much, much simpler for you to do that.
Now I talked about this comfortable seating position. Let me go ahead and show you here. The beauty of it is you're going to still be in a nice upright position. You can see I have a little bit of a lean forward because again, this is a commuter, a little bit more of a nimble roads-type style. But you still have a good upright position and the handlebars are comfortable because they have a little bit of a kink that comes into your body. And you've got your screen right here that'll show you everything, your pedal assist levels, your range on the battery you have left, and of course your speeds. And I can get my feet fairly close to the ground while still getting my leg extension when riding. And your thumb throttle is right here and you can easily adjust your pedal assist level here with your thumb as well.
So like I said, this is a 500-watt rear hub motor, 20 miles an hour top speed with the throttle, 28 miles an hour pedal assist, front and rear disc brakes, and a 10.4 amp hour battery. So your range on this e-bike's going to be anywhere from 20 to 50 miles depending on how you use this e-bike. So what I mean by that is, are you using pedal assist? And then what levels one, two, three, four, or five? Are you using the throttle? Are you turning the motor off and just using a regular bike to preserve your battery during your rides? Those will all have an impact on the range that you get. Also, the rider's weight will have a very large impact on the range that you get as well. The other cool thing about this as a commuter e-bike is it has a seven-speed external derailleur. See a lot of e-bikes out there now, a lot of single speeds, because people become reliant on the power of the motor.
If you want to ride this like a regular bike or spend a lot of time in the lower pedal assists, having these seven-speed gears will be nice because you can ride it like a regular bike. You have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. So even with a little assistance like level one and you put it in gear five, you're going to get going at a nice clip and you'll still feel that assistance from the motor to give your legs a rest as you see fit, or turn the motor off and work your legs harder. So for commuting in longer ranges, it's a lot of fun because you can still get that exercise as needed and the bike will roll smoothly with these thinner tires. And you have your shifting for the derailer right here, which is super easy, super simple. And you can see this is an aluminum frame.
So overall as an e-bike, this is pretty light and you can actually take this, remove the battery, and now this becomes even lighter where if you needed to carry it somewhere, bring it into an office, fairly simple to lift that up and down. The battery's going to reduce the weight by about eight pounds. And if you needed to park this in a garage somewhere you're commuting, or park it outside, you can bring the battery upstairs, charge it, and then when you're ready to ride, just easily ... just got to match up my rails here, just got to easily pop that back in and you're off and running. So very simple, very easy. The last thing I will say about this commuter e-bike is the look of it. It's got a cool sleek frame. You can see the continuation of the top tube into the back here.
That was something at Sixthreezero we thought about. We also smoothed the welds out right here. So it looks like a nice continuous piece. And in addition to that, you have the painted components on the black, and on the navy, you've got the brown accents, which just adds another level of elegance to this and sets it apart from other e-bikes on the market. So something different, something unique, something that would be great for commuting if you're looking for an electric bike. Find it on the Sixthreezero website and linked in the description below.
