Mobility Scooter vs. Electric Trike: Why This ETrike Wins Every Time

Is this e-trike better than a mobility scooter?

Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today, we're going to answer the question, " Is this electric trike better than a mobility scooter? All right, so this is the Simple Glide 750-watt fat tire electric trike. This thing is awesome. You got four-inch wide tires, recumbent style 750-watt motor. So up to speeds of 19 miles an hour and a range of up to 50 miles, depending on how you use the electric, whether you use the throttle or the pedal assist, that will dictate your range. Also, what kind of hills you're taking on and the weight of the riders. So if you're someone who's out, maybe searching for a mobility device, something to get you around, maybe grocery shop, get out, or maybe you also want to get a little exercise, right? The cool thing about this Versa Mobility Scooter is that you can pedal and still get exercise if you want to. And if you don't want to, you can use the full throttle. And even cooler, flip this down, and now you can put your feet up. and use your throttle and not pedal at all. So you get the functionality of a scooter, with also having the ability to pedal and get exercise.

So mobility scooters, number one, are gonna be more limited in range. Number two, have a way lower top speed. And number three, you're not gonna be able to pedal them. So this gives you the ability to do so much more while traveling at faster speeds. It becomes a very practical method or mode of transportation. And also, you can see the seat I'm sitting on is incredibly comfortable with this high backrest, which again, you know, is similar to a mobility device, even more comfortable. Go ahead and put that up so we can pedal. And you can see how easily we can get up and down hills. And from a stability standpoint, incredibly stable. So we're going to go ahead and wait our turn here. Alrighty. Always look both ways. Go ahead and cross. All right. So if you are someone out there, again, you want mobility, I see a lot of people are interested in this trike specifically because you have the ability, again, to get some exercise, right? And even if you can barely move your legs or you're worried about building muscle strength, use the assistance as you see fit. And as you get stronger, I can totally turn the motor off completely. So let me show you. You shift it down to zero.

And now this is under my own power completely right there. So nothing, no power at all. You can still do it without the assistance. I can find the right gear for me just like so. Right. And if you want to get going faster, I can shift into higher gears and still pedal on my own. Again, no assistance at all. And from there, if I'm ready to take a break, I put the assistance back on. And if I'm ready for the ultimate break, again, flip my armrest down, or my foot rest down there, and use my throttle. So I really think a much better alternative to a mobility scooter will give you the freedom to do so much more and really get out and enjoy the outdoors.
