Learning to Ride a Bike as an Adult? This is the BEST BICYCLE for Beginner Adult Bike Riders

The best bike for beginning adult riders and how to ride. I'm going to show you, stick around.

Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I've nearly 20 years experience in the bike and e-bike industry and today right here I've got the best bike for beginning adult bike riders. And I'm going to show you how to get going on this bike and start riding. But before I do, hit that subscribe button below. Stay in touch with us here at Sixthreezero. Be the first to know about all the new content we're putting out. Giveaways we do in, of course, new product releases. All right, let's say you're an adult and you just haven't ridden a bike for a lot of your life. That is perfectly okay. Right here is the Sixthreezero EVRYJourney Cruiser hybrid bike. This is the perfect bike for a beginner adult rider and I'm going to get into it and show you why. Now, first and foremost, this bike features something that's called a forward pedaling design.

Now on most bikes, the pedals fall directly below the seat right here. These pedals are shifted forward about six inches. So it's now what we call a forward-pedaling design. What that means is the seat can be lower to the ground while you still get ample leg extension when riding, because you're getting that six-inch moving forward. Normally you have to raise the seat higher to get the leg extension you need while riding. Well, for a beginning adult rider, you don't want to be up too high because you want to be able to firmly get your feet planted on the ground to ensure you're safe. So you can see here, my feet are flat on the ground, but when I ride, I'm going to have the perfect leg extension because the pedals are moved forward. I'm getting the extension that way. Now what's the benefit?

The benefit is your feet can be almost flat, flat, or almost flat on the ground when you're stopped. So if you need to balance or catch yourself, it's going to be much easier like this versus if you're all the way up on your tippy-toes or on the balls of your feet, which typically you would be on a standard frame bicycle because of how high you should have the seat in order to get the leg extension that you need while riding. And the benefit also is the seat is going to be lower. So for you to get on and off, it's much, much easier. And with the step-over frame, you can pull your leg out quite easily to get on and off. So simple to ride. So if you're jumping back in or you're getting into riding as an adult and either you didn't ride much, or you forgot, or you've never ridden at all, let me show you how this bike can benefit you in so many ways.

Okay, so first of all, the riding position as well. You're in a perfectly upright riding position. My back is relaxed, my arms are relaxed. The handlebars curve into your body so you don't have to reach out here, you don't have to worry about back pain from leaning forward. You're going to be here. The other thing is that this bike has four custom adjustment points where you can raise and lower the seat. You can tilt the seat. You can also raise and lower the handlebars. You can also tilt the handlebars so you can find that perfect riding position for your body and what suits you best from a safety perspective, from a comfort perspective, you name it. And these can all be adjusted, these two up here with an Allen key. It's a wrench for the tilting and it's a quick release for the seat.

So now once you find that riding position, you have front and rear hand brakes, and the right brake is your rear brake and the left brake is your front brake. So you're going to have great stopping power. They're really easy to use once you get the hang of it and they can stop you as fast as you'll need to when you're out and riding. The other benefit is you have these 2.125-inch tires, which give you a little bit of extra width versus some other hybrid or cruiser bikes on the market. That added width is going to absorb the bumps when you go up and down curbs so you won't feel it in your body. And also having that little bit of extra width, it's going to give you better balance. It's going to balance the bike a little bit better. You've got more rubber on the road as opposed to a thinner tire that you may see on some more road-style hybrid bikes.

Okay, now let me show you why this is so great for a beginner bike rider. Now I'm just going to ride over here. I don't have my helmet, but anytime you get on your bike, it is always recommended to have a helmet on. Okay, now let me show you. Now, let's say you have not ridden a bike before and you just want to practice walking with the bike, right? The benefit of this is that your feet are going to be nice and low to the ground. If you were on a standard frame, you'd be up like this and it would be challenging to walk like this. So with the pedals moving forward and the seat lower, I can practice going like this and you can practice walking back and forth and you can still make sure you have balance. Now when you get going a little bit, you can push and just balance.

And then as you need to, you can put your feet down very safely and easily like so. So you can play around with that. You can also, if you go like this and you start riding and you lose your balance, feet can be down very quickly and very easily. Again, a huge benefit to that forward-pedaling design. So that's really what makes it ideal for a beginner rider or someone getting back into riding. And if you want more details on how to ride a bike or get back into riding, we have another video on our YouTube channel called Learning to Bike. Again, it's really helpful to give you some exercises and ways to get your balance back and get comfortable on two wheels again.
