I Finally Found an E-Trike That Fits Me! I'm 5'1" and I Have a Spine Injury: This E Trike is Awesome!

Hi, I'm CJ, and this is my Sixthreezero Easy Transit Folding Trike. I got it earlier this year and like it. Things that made me choose this trike: it has five electric speeds, I'm not sure I'm using the right term, and it's got seven speeds with traditional bike power. I looked at a lot of electric trikes, and it was hard to find something that had seven speeds. So this gives me a lot of variety to handle just about anything I dare tackle. And it also has a handy reverse feature, which I've used. I was kind of wondering what kind of reaction I'd get because it is a bit unusual looking, but I get lots of smiles and lots of compliments. It's been a really pleasant surprise there. And the reason I chose this other specific model that I liked was that it is compact. I can fit it in my SUV. It folds up. I've taken it over to a nearby lake and gone on some wonderful trails over there. I've taken it down some beach trails and gone there, and it's just really handy to get around. I looked at several models, and they were all pretty much just way too big. I would have had to, you know, spend thousands on a hitch for my car and a trailer, and this I can just throw in the back. It's pretty easy.

The other thing I liked about it is I'm five feet one, and it's really hard for me to find a bike or a trike that fits, and this fits. I'll sit on it. You can see, I could lower the seat a few inches and still have room. So lots of good features about this trike, and I'll take it for a spin. I assembled it myself. I haven't put the front basket on because the back basket has been more than enough for my needs. It's been really handy. I have a medical condition, so I can't go for a walk. We moved into a neighborhood that's just lovely for walking, and unfortunately, because of my medical stuff, I can't go for a walk. So it's also been a really good way just to get out and chat with the neighbors on a nice sunny morning like we have today. And it's a conversation starter as well. I probably talk to more people with the trike than I would without it. And I live in a hilly area, and this has been great for the hill, so we can take it over, and you can see the battery life is, I mean, it says full, and I've got 30-some miles on it. I can't remember exactly what Sixthreezero says. I should be getting out of it, but this is a lot more than I expected. I'm waiting to see when I should charge it.

I went down to the bike shop and I got this handy mirror that goes on the end of my handlebars. Another handy thing about this basket is that it's a great place to hang my garage door opener. So, one of the other things I didn't mention about this trike that I liked is the ergonomics and the comfortable seating. On a lot of trikes, you have to lean forward. I got hit in the back and had some spinal damage. So I need a good ergonomic comfort upright position, and this comfort seat gives me that, and the forward pedaling does give me those good ergonomics. So this is just great. It's comfortable. I've gone riding on it for more than an hour, with no problems whatsoever, either on my tush or my back. Are you rolling? Okay, good. And then you might come across and make sure you get the hill. So out of my five electric speeds, I just made it up this hill, not having to pedal hard, and never got above level three or four on the electric. The other nice thing about the electric is that I can be electric-only pedal only, or both, and I came up the hill with both, which was handy. I wasn't having to switch gears a lot. But the all-electric is nice because if I want to cross a street, in a hurry and make sure I get off to a good, quick start, I can just put in an electric and hit the electric throttle. And the other thing is, if I need a little kind of jump start getting up a hill, I can just hit that electric throttle, and that also gets me a jump start getting up the hill.

So the combination of electric and pedal is really handy. So I just made it up that hill, and I never even got into my most powerful electric assist. And I wasn't having to change gears manually, which is handy. And the other thing I like about this electric, it's nice because, with this trike, I can go electric only. I can go pedal only. I can do a combination of the two, which is what I just did on this hill. And the electric is handy because it gives me a chance if I want to. I'm waiting to cross the street, and I want to get across in a hurry. Sometimes it takes me a little bit to get started. If I'm just pedaling, I can just hit the electric throttle, and it gets me right across the street in a hurry. No slow start. And the same thing is going up this hill. If I'm having a little trouble getting started on a hill, I can just hit that electric throttle, and I get that little boost. So I assembled the trike all by myself. I'm able to get in and out of the SUV all by myself. And so I assembled the trike all by myself. I can get in and out of the SUV by myself. I did buy a couple of wheelchair ramps that I use so I don't have to lift them, which is great. That cost me a little over a hundred bucks on Amazon. And I took it into a trike shop because I wanted to make sure the derailleur was appropriately adjusted and the brakes, you know, a good safety thing, or appropriately adjusted. And it's interesting when I took it into the trike shop, the bike shop I took it in, and they said, Whoa, what is this? And they sounded a little suspicious and skeptical. When I went to pick it up the next day, the young guy who had worked on it had taken it out for a spin on the parking lot after he'd worked on it to make sure everything was adjusted right. And when I picked it up, he said, That thing book and that was a pretty big guy. So if it was looking for him, that tells me it's pretty powerful, and that's why I'm having no trouble making it up this hill.
