Electric trikes are not one size fits all. Find out which one is right for you.
Hey, everyone. I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years' experience in the bike and e-bike industry, and today I'm going to tell you about how electric trikes are not one size fits all, and I'm going to help you try to find the right one for you. Before we get into it, hit the Subscribe button below. Stay in touch with us here at sixthreezero. All right. Electric tricycles, or three-wheel e-bikes, are growing in popularity. They're so practical and fun to ride. I've got a whole assortment right here. Our Easy Transit foldable e-trike, our Rickshaw electric trike for the passenger seat, and our EVRYjourney cruising e trike are back here, with all the accessories and bags and everything you could want on those. Now, we're seeing a lot of companies and brands come out with one singular electric tricycle, and they're trying to make that one-size-fits-all all electric trike. I have to say, after doing hundreds of test rides with lots of riders who are interested in electric tricycles, the ability level and the need level just vary so greatly.
Some riders want to ride at a slow, casual pace on trails. Some riders want a tricycle that can go indoors and outdoors. Some people want off-road tricycles, and some people want to fold it up and bring it in their car. Some people want to bring passengers with them, my point is that although the tricycle market may not be as big as the two-wheel market, there are still so many subsets of customers out there with varying needs and varying ability levels, which is why I'm a proponent that you can't just make one e-trike and have that be the end-all, be-all e-trike for everybody out there.
What you're seeing is a lot of 20-inch rear e-trikes or 24-inch, and it appears like this is the trike that has the specs for every rider. Well, as I've said, I've done test rides with all these trikes here right now. We've also interviewed and surveyed and talked to so many of our existing customers, and their needs base is just so different from one another that it would be nearly impossible to find the specs in one product that is right for them. Now, let me walk you through a few reasons why.
As an example here, we have our foldable Easy Transit electric trike. If you're somebody that likes to take your trike with you, go in the car, be mobile with it, you're not going to be able to take something with you that's not foldable. In this case, the frame can fold in half. You can take it with you. You can fold the handlebars down as well right here pretty easily, by unlatching here and your handlebars come down, and now you can take this and put it into the back of your car and go with you places.
You can see it on our YouTube channel. We have a video of us putting this in the back of a hatchback if you want to check it out. If you want to come in a little closer here, we can show everyone down here where the quick release is, where it folds up right here. This is where you would crack the frame in half. Not literally, but you would fold it right there.
Now, the other thing about this one is it has a reverse option as well. This is great for indoor/outdoor if you want to back it into elevators or take it through a mall. It's really practical for that. The other thing you see is the 16-inch tires. This creates a very low stepover height. That's something else that I've noticed is very important to a lot of our riders, is having this very low stepover where you can easily get on and off. This one, in my opinion, is a crossover mobility device and e-tricycle.
Now, it has a 750-watt motor, which is a lot of power. It can get you up hills. Riders up to 350 pounds, this is going to be able to get you up hills. You also have a throttle here and pedal assist, so both options. If you want to take this throughout a store, use the throttle, and zoom around, you can do that. We have a video of that as well. Again, Easy Transit foldable e-trike. You can check out tons of videos on our YouTube channel for this.
For me, this is something short-range transportation, but if you want to bring it in your car, go with you. You can use it for long-range transportation as well, but if you're going to be pedaling a lot, you have the 16-inch tire, so it's going to be a little more work on your legs over the long term. Again, you have the five levels of pedal assist as well.
Now moving back here to our EVRYjourney, this is a great cruising tricycle. The one thing I'll say too is by having different spec levels, we try to find different price points based on the customer. The EVRYjourney is our entry-level e-trike. It has a 250-watt, front-hub motor. Now, it's not the most powerful motor, but it's great for flat ground riding, and we've got tons of videos with riders up to 350 pounds that are cruising around on beach paths and trails using this trike.
The other cool thing is it has a classic cruiser frame with a step-through frame, and it's a lot of fun. You can customize it. We've got all these bags for the rear basket. Helmets match, water bottles match, front bags match, and we've got the four colorways here as well. Again, and an ergonomic upright riding position.
Something fun, something easy, less expensive, less power. That's another thing we found, that not everybody wants a lot of power. The motor's not going to jerk you. It's going to ease. It's going to be just enough power to get you going. Like I said, cruising. It's great on straight pathways. If you just want to cruise around the neighborhood, easy riding is a great option.
All right, now moving up here to our Rickshaw. This has fat tires on it. Now, you can take the Rickshaw seat off. You can put a basket there. This is the multipurpose, do-all, passenger, big kahuna e-trike right here. This can hold up to 600 pounds. You can get up to 250 pounds on the back here with your passengers. You've got a seatbelt back here. Also, you've got these four-inch-wide tires that can go off-road, can go on-road, and this has another 750-watt motor. You can see this is a big, big motor right here.
Again, this can take you up hills, and cruise around town. You can hit speeds up to 20 miles an hour on this. I forgot to mention, but all these trikes do have a throttle and also have the five levels of pedal assist. You've got the footrest back here. You have front and rear disc brakes. This is a very nice-specced e-trike. If you want something where you can bring passengers with you, or you tend to do more rugged riding like I said, hardpack trails or off-road, these tires will be able to take that on, no problem.
Now, in terms of physical ability, I think they're all good for certain people, depending on how you want to ride. The Easy Transit is going to be our most simple mounting and dismounting, followed by our EVRYjourney, which is sort of similar frame as the Rickshaw. Again, if you're looking for a lot of power that's very nimble, can steer very easily, and also be mobile, Easy Transit is a good option. If you're looking to just cruise, keep it in your garage, have fun, and accessorize, the EVRYjourney is a good option for that. Also very comfortable, and upright. If you're looking for something where you can do all of those things and also bring some passengers, the Rickshaw is it. Like I said, you can put a basket on here. You can also go off-road with these thick tires.
Again, different price ranges for all these products. You can find them linked in the description below. As I found, it's impossible to come up with one spec level or one level of features for just e-trikes as a whole, and we've got more e-trikes coming out in the next few months with different riders in mind, with different terrains in mind, different body types in mind.
Here are three examples of the e-trikes we've specced for different riders. If you have any questions about any of these at all, please comment below or email us, at theteam@sixthreezero.com, or call us, at (310) 982-2877. Don't forget, like I said, all three are linked in the description below or the corner of the video. Also, we have a 30-day test drive on your e-trike policy. If you don't love it in the first 30 days, send it back, no questions asked, no money out of your pocket. In addition to that, we're going to warranty anything for the first year. If anything goes wrong in the first year, we'll take care of it.
Lastly, join our Facebook Pedalers group and download our app. Before you make a purchase of an electric trike, join the Pedalers group, ask questions, and see how they like their e-trike. Then once you have yours, post in the group, make friends, and track your rides on the app. You can compete on the leaderboard. It's tons of fun. Thanks for sticking around, and don't forget, it's your journey or experience. Enjoy the ride.
