An electric tricycle that's a recumbent? Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today I'm going to show you this electric tricycle that's a recumbent. All right this is the Simple Glide Electric Recumbent Tricycle from sixthreezero. Check it out if you want more details. Navigate over to the sixthreezero website. Now, this is a 500-watt front hub motor electric e-trike recumbent that is awesome for mobility, and getting around, and it's very very powerful so 500-watt front hub motor, a 15 amp hour battery down below here. You can also see we've got this ultra comfy office chair with a soft cushion. You've also got this adjustable seat that can move forward and backward. You just click that, and you can slide back. So this e-bike, too far back for me, this e-bike can accommodate riders from five foot to six foot four and I can just bring that back like this. Now I'm up close and personal. Now, if you want to come in for some close-ups, I'll walk you around all the specifics. So you can get a range up to 50 miles. And you can also get top speeds up to 16 miles an hour. You can also climb hills on this thing.
It's really powerful. Now, come up here to the display. I'll show you. Let's go ahead and turn our battery on down here. Right over here. Okay. Now, once you turn the battery on, you've got your display right here. Now you have five levels of pedal assist on this recumbent. One, two, three, four, five. And when you pedal, it goes or the assistance kicks in. Now, if you don't want to pedal at all, you have a twist throttle over here that you can just twist and it will go easily. Now this is a kill switch on your throttle. If it's popped out, it means that the throttle won't work. Push it in, the throttle will work. We've got parking brakes on both levers up here so it won't roll away. You can see we've got the parking brake engaged right now. And front and rear disc brakes that can stop easily. Now also the front handlebars fold down right here. If you need to transport it in any way, shape, or form, you can go ahead and pop these down. Got to undo the lock right there. And from there, your handlebars will fold down like so. So if you want to transport on the back of a rack and you want to keep the handlebars down for safety. And then you just pop this back in like so. Now your handlebars are locked back into place. Now right here as well, you have an adjustable handlebar so you can find the perfect position for you.
So let me demonstrate. As I sit down here, I can go ahead and just find what works best for me. I like them somewhere right about there. Clamp that down. Now I've got my perfect handlebar position so you're off and riding. Now the other thing is I like to put a backrest on here for added comfort. Just like an office chair, any backrest will fit back here. Strap it on. Gives you lumbar support. Also for shorter riders, you can double it up. No problem at all. Strap those on. And push that back. Now, for me, I just like one. So I'm going to go ahead and take that off. And you can see it just adds to the comfort back here. There we go. So now I've got a nice riding position. Handlebars are located right by my body. Very easy to steer. Now, the other cool thing is easy to get on and off. You can lift your armrest, slide over like this, and exit out the side like that. Now, that's a pretty big deal if you want something to get on and off easily. The other thing too is if to get on, you can back into it like this, sit down on the edge, and from there, turn your body into the recumbent trike. So, the cool thing about this recumbent trike is it's not super low to the ground. So getting up and down is too difficult. The seat is about the height of a desk chair.
So really, you can slide on and off, like I said, very easily and the the in and out is very easy as well. Then once you're in, put your armrest down and you're off and riding. So it is a lot of fun. Now, I'll just demonstrate quickly how it works. We do have several other videos of riding that you can check out. I accidentally disconnected a cable up here. Okay. Now, let's disengage our brakes. Now, like I said, I can put it into level one. I just twist this throttle and I can be off and running. And it's very stable, very maneuverable. Because of the elongated frame, it's very balanced and stable. Braking is a cinch. Like that. Now if I want to pedal, just pedal and my assistance will kick in. There we go. And I'm only in assist level one. Now if I crank this up to three, I start taking off. Two is a nice pace. One is even good as well. Very easy to ride, and very comfortable. This is a lot of fun as a recumbent trike. So this is the simple glide recumbent e-trike with a lot of features and a lot of comfort easy on and off.
