Choosing the right electric bike for a woman. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today we're gonna answer the question or help to choose the right e-bike for a woman. All right, I've got two different models of e-bike her, the EVRYjourney Women's 500 Watt, and also the Simple step-through 500 Watt. If you are a woman out there shopping for an electric bike, or maybe you're helping your daughter or your wife, your mom, whoever it may be, choose the right electric bike, and you're trying to find something that they will enjoy, suit their style, also suit their body. The reality of electric bikes is that all electric bikes are unisex, as is every product, every bike is unisex. Now, in the e-bike space, there's not as much sizing developed for different heights like there is in standard bikes and road bikes, right? When you get into road bikes, mountain bikes, it is now also true for road and mountain electric bikes.

There are different sizes; however, when you're talking about recreational e-bikes, it's generally one size fits all, gender, height, you name it. Now, some specific models are better for taller individuals or heavier individuals, things of that nature. But there aren't as many different sizes, right? So there's like a 24-inch e-bike and you can adjust the seat in handlebars, or a 26-inch e-bike and you can adjust the seat and handlebars. So if you are a woman shopping for an e-bike, just know, find the e-bike that's right for you. Now, these two e-bikes that I have here, the EVRYjourney Women's and the Simple Step Through, are two of our most popular e-bikes for women, and I'm going to get into a few of the reasons why. Now, number one, as you can probably already tell, is the color palette, right?

When you go out shopping for electric bikes, you're going to find a lot of the same colors out there. The blacks, the whites, the silvers. Oh, so boring, right? So EVRYjourney, a Simple step through, really cool color palette. You've got navy, cream, teal, hairy winkle, caramel mauve and the jade straw green as well. These are a few of the colors for EVRYjourney. There's also black, and then there's also yellow. So, from my experience, women are concerned with the style of any product, or most women are concerned with the style, right? You still want it to look good, suit your personality, and function. It is very important when choosing an electric bike, or any type of bike for that matter, that you want it to look good. So, EVRYjourney, a Simple step through, really cool color, colorways, and a palette of different colors that stand out amongst all the boring colors of e-bikes that are out there.

In addition to that, two cool features on this, with every Journey, this is a forward-pedaling, designed e-bike. What that means is the pedals are moved forward about six inches from where they are on a typical bike or e-bike. What this allows for is the seat to be lower to the ground when you're stopped. So you can have your feet flat on the ground, but get good leg extension when riding. A lot of women prefer this because, generally speaking, women are shorter than men. So you can get on and off this e-bike much more easily. Also, your feet can be nearly flat or flat on the ground when stopped, but you still get good leg extension when riding, so you don't have to have that seat up high and be on your tippy toes to get the right leg extension when riding. So a lot of women really, really like that forward pedaling feature because of the comfort and safety that it provides on their e-bike.

Also has a cruiser setup, so you're going to sit ergonomically, just overall comfort is at its highest on every journey, and what I find with women is that style, comfort are very important features when they're shopping for an electric bicycle. Power seems to be more important for men, generally speaking. Now, moving over here to the simple step through, you can also see I'll make it peek out here. This has a very low step-through height to get on and off. Only 11 inches to step through this frame. Now, again, another feature a lot of women like because it makes the mounting and dismounting process very simple, safe, and easy. And again, from my experience, women value safety when it comes to their electric bike. So one of the easiest, if not the easiest, electric bikes to mount and dismount, along with the EVRYjourney as well.

Both of them are incredibly safe, and you have a huge color palette to choose from. Now, in terms of the power and the range, none of that is compromised. 500-watt rear hub motors on these. You can go up to 20 miles an hour by just pressing the throttle, and about 23 miles an hour by utilizing the pedal assist. It's going to get you up hills, it's going to get you on straightaways, flat ground, you name it. Also, the battery can provide a range of up to 50 miles on a single charge. Now, the range is going to be dependent on the weight of the rider, how much or little you use the electric assist, and whether you use the pedal assist or the throttle. Also, the type of terrain. Are you riding on hills or are you riding on flat ground? On flat ground, you'll get more range out of your battery. So, two great options if you also are just shopping for an e-bike, again, if you're a woman or searching for a woman and an e-bike, keep in mind the low step over of the frame, also the forward pedaling design seem to be two of the features that i've found women prefer.
