All right, so today I'm going to answer the question, are thousand dollars e-bikes good? Now, this is a challenging question to answer because I don't like to say things are necessarily good or bad. I like to say, "Is it right for you or not right for you?" So nowadays, you can find e-bikes in all sorts of price ranges from $500 up to $10,000. Behind me, I have some Sixthreezero electric bikes, our EVRYjourney e-bike and simple step-through e-bike retail for $1,500, and our tricycle retails for just about $2,000.

Now, are thousand-dollar e-bikes good? The answer is yes, depending on the type of riding you are going to be doing, how much wear and tear you're going to put on your e-bike, and also the ranges you want to go, the hills, topography, and all sorts of things. The price of an e-bike is dictated not only by the spec of a product, which is true for any product, right? It's not just the product itself that goes into the price. It's also the company, the warranty, the services they offer, and the guarantees they offer, all things to consider. So you, as an e-bike shopper, need to consider when you buy that thousand-dollar e-bike, are you getting the things that make you feel best about your purchase?

And quite honestly, what makes one person feel good about a purchase does not make another person feel good about a purchase. So that's important to consider with e-bikes as well. Certain companies may stand behind their products more if it's over a thousand dollars. However, not to say there are a thousand dollar.. Companies that sell thousand-dollar e-bikes that also stand behind the product. So my point being is, yes, thousand dollars E-bikes are great. You can find tons of great speed e-bikes out there.

One thing to consider with e-bikes in general, a lot of times the lower the price goes, the smaller the battery gets. So one important factor, if you're looking at something around a thousand dollars, is what size battery it has and trying to correlate that to the needs you have as an e-bike rider. If you want to go north of 30 miles per trip, a thousand dollars e-bike may not be the right option for you because the battery may or may not give you the kind of range you need. Now, I say may or may not because you might get it on sale or there might be options out there, but typically when you get into that thousand dollars range, you're going to see smaller batteries, smaller ranges. And also this is something to consider if you're a heavier rider, over 200 pounds, 250, 300, when you get into those thousand dollars bikes, if it's a smaller battery for your body type, it may drain that battery super quickly. In addition to that, at a thousand dollars, you're going to bring your wattage down.

So you can get a great thousand dollars e-bike. Just check the size of the motor, check the battery size, and make sure those things line up with the type of riding that you want to do. Because a smaller motor's not going to get you up hills as well, it's not going to get you to faster speeds. But if you can determine that this is the speed I want to go, this is the distance I want to go, and all of those things align with a thousand dollars e-bikes that you find online, go for it.

There are even $500 e-bikes out there, and I can tell you right now, if you're only going to log a few miles a week on it, that may be a great option for you. But like I said, if you're going to do something up major hills, really long distances, a thousand dollars e-bike may not be right for you because it may not take you where you want to go. You may not get the range you want to go, but on the flip side, it might also.

So check the specs. Start to understand the specs. Understand the motor sizes, the battery sizes, and how those correlate to different ranges. How they also correlate to your body type, how tall you are, and how much you weigh so you can make sure if you find that e-bike for a thousand dollars, everything you're purchasing aligns with what you want as a consumer.
