OK, she's ready for her maiden voyage. So I walked her through a few things. One thing I want to show you, too. So go ahead. The power buttons are right here in the middle. Hold that down. OK. OK, now you're all geared up. Now, one thing I want to show you also, go ahead and put your feet on the pedal. This has reverse. So go ahead and put your feet on the pedals push the throttle just a little bit and start just a little. Ease into it. Go ahead. And start pedaling backward. Oh, that's cool. Yeah. Okay, so you have the reverse option on this as well. Now you can flip that button back to drive, to do the D. So there's a D and an R. And you have the seven speeds here as well. You can shift up by pushing here, down by pushing here. Same things. You're up and you're down. And your throttle. Now, you have to steer... a tricycle the reason I say that is on two-wheel bikes you kind of lean a little more on this one you have to turn the handlebars where you want to go and just trust that it will stay balanced basically okay it will balance but a lot of people think it won't so you have to psychologically tell yourself that it will okay so you can just pedal because you're in level one yeah Oh! Hit the brake! Hit the brake! Brake! Brake! Okay. Tricycles, like when you ride them, like, like I've got to go like this. Okay. Like actually turn it.
Turn it. That's what I'm saying is like, don't worry, it'll stay balanced. But if you want to go this way, you have to turn. Doing this will do nothing. Okay, so this is a great first example here. Olivia, like I said, has never been on a conventional trike. This is not uncommon, as your brain resorts to thinking that you lean like you lean on a two-wheel bike. On a three-wheel trike, leaning does not move the bike. It can counterbalance the weight to help keep the wheels down. But it won't steer the bike, the trike. So hop on again. I'm going to stick with you this time. We'll go slower. And then keep one finger up there. Yep. Okay. Put your feet on the pedals. Go slow. Go ahead. Now practice steering. Yes. There you go. Now slow down. Now make a full U-turn. Turn to the left. All the way. Trust it. Yep. There you go. Okay. Yeah. It's easy once you know, but... Now make another... Go over there and make a U-turn. Trust it. Turn. Harder. Harder. Harder. There you go. Can you go down a little farther, you think? Turn to the left. Turn to the left. Left. This left. Just stay away from the cones. There you go. Left, left, left, left, left. There you go. Huh. Total difference. It's not uncommon. You have to retrain your brain into how to ride. So we've taught Olivia how to ride a trike in under.
And you can even turn it more. That's what I'm saying. There's this thing where people only turn. You can turn it in. And it's fine. And it's fine. I'm used to the regular bikes. Right. Like you don't have that zero turning radius. Right. Do you feel confident enough to make it down there? I'm going to stick with you. Let's try. Yes. There you go. Okay. Around that. We'll go around the berm again. Just keep it at a casual pace. And practice pulling the brake, too. Just to... There you go. Steer the wheels to the left. There you go. Start turning now. Yep. Harder, harder, harder, harder. Turn, turn, turn. Watch the back wheel, watch the back wheel. Okay, you're good, you're good. There you go—just a little practice. Try the throttle a little bit with your left thumb, just a little. Don't pedal. Throttle. There you go. there you go. She did it. I did it. So, here I'll back you up a little bit. Or you can get off if you want to. What Olivia just experienced as her first time ride is not uncommon actually. um, I've done hundreds of test rides for people riding an adult trike for the first time. So if you're looking at getting an adult trike, electric or non-electric, you may experience the same thing your first time out riding. Stick with it. Olivia just literally, we've only been here the length of this video, under five minutes. She went from running into the cones the first time to doing it, and it'll get easier and better every time you do it.
