Can My Fat Tire ETrike Fit Through The Trailhead Pylons? Best Width for an Electric Tricycle

Can my e-trike fit through the pylons on trails? Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry. Today we'll show you your e-trike fits between the pylons blocking trails. So I am on the Simple Glide fat tire electric trike, we're out doing some trail riding and we've encountered these trail blockers, so, you know, motor vehicles don't ride down them. These are common. Now, this e-trike is about 32 inches wide. It has four-inch-wide tires. A lot of people get questions about whether your trike can fit through these well. I don't know, you know, every city or trail how wide they make these, but I want to say that 95% of the time, the answer is yes, you will be able to fit through. And I'm going to demonstrate really quickly here on the Simple Glide. Oh, get my brakes released. And we have a reverse function on this trike. So we're going to go ahead and reverse back up. All right. I think...Most time, the cities are going to make it accessible for three-wheel vehicles. In this case, it says to begin wheelchair-accessible trails. A lot of these trails have thought about this, that other things are coming through here besides bicycles, but they want to prevent motor vehicles. Again, this is a 32-inch wide trike. This is going to be one of the wider ones because of the fat tires.

Other ones that we offer at Sixthreezero are even narrower, but you can see as I come through that I've got a lot of clearance here on either side. Now, you do want to make sure you come in straight to ensure that you don't hit anything. I've also found that oftentimes for me, it depends on how wide your trail is, but I like going to the outside because sometimes I feel like the outside lanes are wider. Also gives me my bearings a little bit better. But the answer is yes, you should be able to fit through. I'll try to reverse back here as well. And again, plenty of clearance to get through. So if you are thinking about getting a trike, I would say more often, Uh, then not about 95% of the time a trike will fit through these barriers to allow you to go on the trails. Now, make sure it is indicated that it is a bike trail. This trail did say bicycle trail, so we went for it. Also, if you want to check out the Simple Glide, it is a great e-trike for on-road, off-road, really comfortable. You can see my seat here is awesome, I love it.
