Best Electric Bike with Child Seat | Kid Seat on an E-Bike Makes Parent's Lives Easier!

This is the EVRYjourney electric bike Rickshaw, the 2025 newest model that features a hitch on the back and hydraulic disc brakes. This thing is cool, you can put passengers here. You can also switch the trailer out for an additional seat. When you purchase the rickshaw, it comes with everything up here. Still, you have the option of buying an additional subframe, additional attachments that go on top of the subframe, like this basket, or an extra seat or a different basket as well. It attaches very easily up here with this hitch attachment that can easily slide on and off whichever attachment you want to put on. Simply drop it in, lock your hitch down, put your safety pin through, and you are good to go. So let's go ahead and turn these up, and then let's put our cooler in. Okay, so we have to put this one now. The cool thing, too, is you have this liftgate that opens up from there. We can put this one in. Now we're pushing this thing to the max, but we want to demonstrate. Let's just throw in another chair and one more chair, why not? Some bungee cords here. Let's see if I can find a better length here, possibly. Just get it a little tighter. Yeah, there we go. Let's try the orange. Much better. Here we go, and you can see I'm just using the throttle. It is better to use pedal assist when you have heavier loads in the back. You've got to come out wide on the turn and then whip it around.

You can see we can fit on the sidewalks, no problem. Do you like riding back there? I know you do. Okay. We made it. We got the second seat hooked up back here if you want to come take a look at this. We got our trailer hitch hooked up here for our second row. We don't need it since I'm only picking up two of my kids, but they like each having their seats. And I packed some snacks and helmets underneath here. So we'll be all ready to pick them up. Notice how we can still brake pretty well or well with our hitch attached, and steering is really easy and smooth. Your helmets are in the back here. All right, can you buckle yourself? Okay, there we go, we're good. What'd you say, Trey? Tight corners, no problem. Thanks for riding the Daddy Express. Everyjourney Electric Rickshaw, a thousand-watt mid-drive with the hitch attachment. So if you're not familiar with our first rickshaw, of course, you have this seat back here. You can fit up to two adult passengers or three children. The total capacity of the rickshaw is 500 pounds. We recommend no more than 200 pounds on the back seat. Underneath the seat, you've got storage. You've got a foot plate here for your passengers to sit on.

You've got a big 21 amp-hour battery here that's going to provide you with up to a range of 50 miles. And again, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes that stop smoothly, easily, and on a dime. You also have a seven-speed derailleur like on a typical bike. So you have gears you can shift to. And then, of course, you have your electric mid-drive motor that gives you five levels of pedal assist and also a thumb throttle you can press so you don't have to pedal at all. You also have the suspension fork up here, front headlight, and rear tail lights as well. This 1000-watt mid-drive motor gives you 130 Newton-meters of torque. Basically, with the mid-drive, you're getting more torque. We also have more wattage and more power, but you get way more torque with this mid-drive. So, towing is going to be easier. Also, climbing hills is going to be easier. An extension of the frame here, you have a hitch ball. We sell subframes, baskets, and seats that you can just attach right on here, and then you can lock those into place. And now you can have passengers plus cargo. You can also add fenders to your second row of tires, as well, if you want to do that. And if you wanted to, you could ride it without the attachments and maybe buy those later if you decide either A, you want to take more passengers, or B, you want to bring more cargo with you.

This is your motor right here in the mid-drive. It's going to power the bike in the crankshaft, which is a little bit different than a rear mount or a front hub. So it is contained in there. You have your battery right here. The battery has an on-off switch. You can turn that on and off. Here's your charging port, and it charges just by plugging into a standard at-home outlet. We provide the charger. There are disc brakes. You have three discs, two on the rear wheels, one on each rear wheel, and one on the front wheel. They are hydraulic. Here are your calipers, and you have parking brakes here as well. Now your throttle is a thumb throttle located right here on your thumb, and then if you move over here, here are your controls for your pedal assist, your up, your down. This is your mode button, and your power is located here on top. So here's your battery life. Shows you what percentage of battery you have left. Here's your trip odometer, your pedal assist levels, and of course, in this case, it's kilometers an hour, but you can switch that to miles per hour. Now here's your seat. Very comfortable and squishy. You can remove the seat and replace it with a basket if you'd rather bring some cargo and passengers.

So here's your hitch that comes standard, and underneath here you have your storage under the seat, and this just latches closed nice and easy. The way this works is there's a subframe under here. So there's your subframe, and the basket is mounted to it. So if you wanted to buy add-ons, you would purchase the subframe. From there, you can purchase either a basket or an extra seat. There are two types of baskets you can mount on this, plus the seat, which looks just like that. The other cool thing, too, is that this basket can open up right here, and you can fold this down to slide things in and out as well. All right, we've got Jeff on the back now. We even had Jeff (6'4", 250 lbs), and I'm 230. So the combined weight to 480 pounds, plus the bike's 130 pounds.. Even with all that weight, the EVRYjourney tackled hills with impressive ease, proving just how powerful and capable it is!  And you can see, it fits pretty well back there. Pretty comfortable. So let's give it a rip. I'll leave the cargo basket on there, too. Why not? No sweating over here. Now we're not flying up the hill, but we're doing it. Woo. Burst of cold air right here.
