E-Bikes & Bikes Customised to You
Updated On: December 18, 2025
As I approach my 70s, staying active and independent has become more important than ever. But several years ago, I injured my SI joint, and over time, that injury has made daily walking more difficult — especially in my small rural town, where getting to places like the post office requires a good bit of effort.
I used to walk everywhere. Every day. But gradually, the pain made those simple routines harder. That’s what led me to start researching electric bikes. I looked at two-wheel e-bikes first, but reality set in: I’m not getting any younger. I can still ride a regular bike without trouble, but I wanted something stable, safe, and supportive as I age.
That’s what led me to an electric tricycle — and specifically, the sixthreezero Electric Trike. After reading reviews, watching assembly videos, and learning about the features, I decided to place an order. Now, I can honestly say:
It’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made.
Even though I’m still capable of riding a regular bicycle, balance becomes more unpredictable with age — especially when dealing with joint issues. The stability of three wheels just made sense for long-term comfort and confidence.
I also needed something practical for daily life:
A trike checks every box.
What sold me immediately was the pedal assist. I usually ride in Pedal Assist Level 1 on flat ground and Level 2 for hills. The combination of gentle pedaling and motor support takes pressure off my joints while still letting me stay active.
We have several steep streets here, and this trike handles them beautifully. I still get to pedal, but the assist makes it feel effortless — especially on days when my SI joint is sore or when I’ve worked long 10–12 hour days teaching from home.
This trike lets me:
I absolutely love it.
My town has a small post office that I visit almost daily. Before the trike, I walked — even when carrying heavy packages — which wasn’t easy with back pain.
The trike has been a game-changer.
On busy workdays, I can hop on the trike, pedal up to the post office, grab my mail, and be back home within minutes — without breaking a sweat.
Another major benefit:
The trike folds and fits in the back of my Tahoe.
There’s a mechanic shop in town that services my vehicle. Before owning this trike, whenever I dropped off my car, I had to walk all the way home — sometimes in bad weather and usually in pain.
Now, I can fold the trike, load it into the Tahoe, drop off my vehicle, and simply ride the trike home. When the car is ready, I ride back to the shop. No more long, uncomfortable walks.
Here’s what a typical trip looks like:
The trike climbs hills without hesitation. Even the steepest street on my route feels effortless in Level 2. When the road slopes downward, I simply switch to Level 0 and coast comfortably home.
It’s smooth, stable, and incredibly easy to control — even one-handed while trying to film a video.
If you’re a senior dealing with:
Then this trike is worth every penny.
It has given me:
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone — especially those of us nearing 70 or beyond who still want to enjoy life, stay independent, and keep moving.
This electric trike has honestly improved my daily life in ways I didn’t expect. And I’m grateful every time I ride it.
