Two light, compact, easy-to-transport e-bikes. You got to see. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I'm nearly 20 years experience in the bike and e-bike industry. And today I'm going to show you two lightweight, compact, easy-to-transport e-bikes. All right right here I've got the Simple Step-Thru 20 inch from sixthreezero, and the Zip and Fold 20 inch from sixthreezero. Two easy-to-fold, compact e-bikes that are good for transporting and bringing with you if you want to know more about them. Now let me get into the details of them now. Two different e-bikes, a Simple Step-Thru 20-inch is a 500-watt rear hub motor. The Zip and fold is a 750-watt rear hub motor. Also, the Zip and Fold or the Simple Step-Thru has a 10.4 amp hour battery and the Zip and Fold has a 15 amp hour battery. So a little bit bigger battery on the Zip and fold, but also a bigger motor and little smaller battery on the Simple Step-Thru 20-inch. Now, Zip and fold folds in the middle of the frame and also down in the handlebars, and weighs 65 pounds. A simple step-through 20-inch actually does not fold in the middle, but the handlebars can fold down right here and you can still get it very, very compact. And this weighs 54 pounds. So there is an 11-pound weight difference between the two of these. Now, why is that? Number one, you've got a much thicker frame on the Zip and Fold, a bigger battery, and a bigger motor, which are all going to contribute to the added weight. You also have this suspension fork on the front and these three-inch wide tires versus the 2.125-inch tires. So if you're looking for something with a wider tire, maybe you want to go on some off-roading hard-pack trails. This is a little bit better of an option. If you're looking for something lighter, zippier, and great on pavement, this is a better option. So, little bit of a difference there. Now, also with this lighter frame, 11 pounds, the 500 watts is very, very powerful and zippy. Now we've got a bigger motor on this one, but we've exchanged that 11 pounds, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it actually makes a big difference in how responsive the motor is especially when you're going up the hill. The other thing I want to point out is this one is a Simple Step-Thru 20 inches, 54 pounds with a seven-and-a-half pound battery. So if you take that battery off, now you are down to 46 and a half pounds, which is pretty light in the world of e-bikes. So transporting and lifting is quite easy.
And like I said, take the battery off. It makes it even lighter. Now the battery on the Zip and Fold is eight and a half pounds. So minus that off of the 65 pounds and now you're down to 56 and a half pounds. I had to do the math in my head there. So, actually heavier than the Simple Step-Thru with the battery on, but still by two and a half pounds more. So 54 pounds with the battery, this is 56 and a half pounds without the battery. So, another thing to point out is the step-through height. Simple Step-Thru has this 9-inch step over height and the zip and fold has approximately. I don't have my tape measure now and forgot it. But it's about 16 inches for a step over height. So if you want the absolute lowest, easiest to get on an e-bike, and very light and easy to control, a Simple Step-Thru 20-inch is really a good option. Want something with fatter tires, more powerful, and probably better for 300-pound riders if you're going to do a lot of hills to have that extra weight? Zip and fold is a good option. Now, both have throttle capability. Both have five pedal assist levels. Both can be ridden without the electric if you so choose. Both actually have seven speeds as well. Now, the speeds are not correlated to the electric assist. Those are just like speeds you would see on normal bicycle speeds or gears, however, you want to call them. You can shift those gears one through seven. It's great to have that range if you're climbing hills or if you're running in the highest level of pedal assist, it's nice to have that seventh gear so your pedaling can match up nicely to the output of the motor. Both have front and rear disc brakes. Batteries are both easy to remove and charge. Both have the middle display here so you can easily see your miles per hour, your charge, your range, and everything like that. Both are quite compact and easy to store. Like I said, you can fold them up. Now, this one doesn't fold in half, but it's still a very small, compact frame.
So, if you want to see other videos on these, I take them both for test rides. You can check it out and see how they perform on the open road. Visit our YouTube channel. One other thing, actually, as I'm looking at both of these e-bikes, I want to point out the riding position. The Zip and fold, because of the straight bar setup, it's a little bit more of an aggressive riding position where you do have to lean forward just a bit. So if you like something where you're in this position, this one's better. The Simple Step-Thru 20 is a complete upright ride and we have these mini ape hanger handlebars that come into your body and it's really comfortable. And you can adjust these handlebars up, and find the right position for you so your arms are nice and relaxed. The back doesn't have to bend over at all. Both of these are a lot of fun, really zippy, and fun to ride. So any other questions on either of them, please comment below or reach out to us at theteam@sixthreezero.com, or call us at 310-982-2877. Also, we offer a 30-day test ride to your e-bike policy.
