E-Bikes & Bikes Customised to You
Updated On: October 19, 2023
Speaker 1: Okay guys, today we're here with Jackie. And Jackie, how old are you?
Jackie: I am in my late fifties.
Speaker 1: Awesome. So Jackie's in her late fifties. And have you ever ridden an E-bike before?
Jackie: I never have. I've heard about them. I've thought about it, and here I am.
Speaker 1: Awesome. Okay. And then when's the last time you've ridden a traditional bicycle?
Jackie: Oh, my gosh, this is giving me flashbacks of my Schwinn, my yellow Schwinn.
Speaker 1: Awesome.
Jackie: With a banana seat. So probably 1942. No, I wasn't alive yet.
Speaker 1: Maybe 20 years?
Jackie: Twenty, 30. Thirty.
Speaker 1: Okay. Awesome. Great. Well, we love that. A lot of people on our channel haven't ridden a bike in 20 years. Even some younger people will say five years, et cetera.
Jackie: Yeah. I'm very athletic, but the last bike I rode was a stationary recumbent at the gym.
Speaker 1: Okay. That counts. That's something
Jackie: You don't need brakes for that.
Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, so I'm going to give Jackie a little overview here on camera and then we're going to kind of get her first initial reaction and ride, and we'll follow her for that. So I'm just going to explain to her on camera that we have some mirrors here on the Easy Transit Folding Trike.
Jackie: Oh, it's to see not myself. It's for the...
Speaker 1: You can see and you.
Jackie: It's not a vanity mirror. It's a safety mirror.
Speaker 1: Exactly. And for your vanity. And then we have two hand brakes here, one front and one back that she can use if she's ever wanting to stop the motor or just get an abrupt stop. They're very safe and reactive, so that's awesome. And then we have seven speeds here. She's just going to be on kind of flat land, so she won't need to adjust that for now. And then I'll go ahead and have you turn it on, Jackie. It's that middle button. Just hold that down a bit.
Jackie: Power.
Speaker 1: Hold it down a little bit longer.
Jackie: Okay. 1, 2, 3.
Speaker 1: Yeah, perfect. So yeah.
Jackie: Look at this. Leather handles. I'm very impressed.
Speaker 1: Oh good.
Jackie: That's classy.
Speaker 1: So here we have the display. It'll tell you your battery level there at the top, your speed, your miles per hour, and then your pedal assist level, which is on one right now, as you guys can see. Jackie, I'll have you press up on that arrow just to show them that you can move it up or down. Cool. And then we'll just...
Jackie: Speed demon.
Speaker 1: Yes. And that's if you're going up a hill, et cetera.
Jackie: How far does it go up? To five.
Speaker 1: Five, exactly.
Jackie: Okay.
Speaker 1: So we'll put it back down to one just so you're comfortable on your first ride.
Jackie: That's a great idea. I just read Prince Harry's autobiography. Well, I didn't read it. He read it to me, but I'm having a blast. When he was learning how to fly I'm like, "Oh, the pressure." But this will be much more.
Speaker 1: Yes, no pressure at all. Yeah. And then I'll just give you guys a little overview. It does have this front basket. Jackie put on her sunglasses and her iPhone, which fit perfectly.
Jackie: Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 1: Yeah. And then if she did want to go to the beach, the park, et cetera, we do have this cargo basket in the back that just opens up easily. And then this is the Easy Transit Folding Trike. So it does have folding capabilities to be able to fit in your car, RV, or whatever you like to do. And we can show you guys that later. We have other videos
Jackie: Yeah, that's important. I'm sure of that.
Speaker 1: Yeah, we have some other videos showing how it can fit into crossovers and small SUVs. So that's awesome too. But anyway, we'll have Jackie go ahead and start riding. Jackie, do you just want to ride this fence and see how you feel?
Jackie: Yeah. Can I ask a couple of questions before I forget?
Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
Jackie: One of those is, so you go on your little adventure, you go to the beach. How do you lock it up? Does it have a lock?
Speaker 1: So there's no lock built in, but there are plenty of e-bike locks that you can buy on the market.
Jackie: And you just wrap it around like a normal bike?
Speaker 1: Exactly, yeah.
Jackie: Okay, cool.
Speaker 1: And then you can.
Jackie: Did I get ahead?
Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it. And then this is the battery down here. The battery is 750 watts. So you do have a lot of power, but the bike is capped at 16 miles per hour at its fastest. So it's still very safe. It just has power for tough hills for people that have mobility issues, and need a little extra assistance.
Jackie: A little oomph.
Speaker 1: A little oomph, yes, exactly.
Jackie: Where do you charge this thing?
Speaker 1: So you can charge it at home, it's just a normal outlet.
Jackie: Okay.
Speaker 1: And then you can just slip this battery out, which I was going to say, you can slip the battery out too for safety when you want to lock it up.
Jackie: Can you go to a car park?
Speaker 1: No, it'd be like a normal outlet in your house that you charge a vacuum in.
Jackie: You know what I see in the future? I see.
Speaker 1: I can see that, yeah.
Jackie: Places like a Tesla thing where you go.
Speaker 1: Charge. Yeah, because it has become so popular.
Jackie: This is the future.
Speaker 1: Yeah, agree. Okay, awesome. So yeah.
Jackie: But the moment is now, the driving test.
Speaker 1: Yes.
Jackie: And can you get a ticket if you go too fast?
Speaker 1: Perhaps. I mean, I know on normal bikes you can, so I'm sure on e-bikes, but I think they're developing more safety laws, et cetera, around them. And yeah, we promote safety, especially with the three wheels, and the speed being capped so that you can still ride.
Jackie: It's a glorified tricycle.
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. A tricycle.
Jackie: It's very cute. It's very European and fancy.
Speaker 1: Oh, I love that. Great. Okay. So yeah, it's comfortable. And then also we have it in this cream color, which is the color it comes in for now for the Easy Transit. It's pretty gender-neutral, so that is awesome as well. You can get it if you're a young woman, young man, older man, et cetera. So we will have Jackie here go ahead and ride forward and see how her first initial reaction is on the Easy Transit Folding Trike.
Jackie: Okay. Power on.
Speaker 1: Yes.
Jackie: Okay.
Speaker 1: Power on. Is it on one?
Jackie: Yeah.
Speaker 1: Okay, great.
Jackie: Here we go.
Speaker 1: And then remember, you can hover your hands over those brakes if you ever just want to stop, which is fine on your first ride.
Jackie: It's got a little pickup. Ooh, look at that. Ooh.
Speaker 1: And Jackie's getting a phone call, which is fine.
Jackie: It's my agent. Tell him I'm here. Where would you want me to go? Up the hill?
Speaker 1: You can stop right here. We'll get a few questions.
Jackie: Let me get that.
Speaker 1: Yeah. Jackie's just going to silence her call real quick and then we'll get her feedback. All right, so Jackie just took her first ride. Probably not too long, just from the tree, kind of down to this light post over here. But how did you feel? Was it comfortable? Did you feel in control? What are your initial thoughts?
Jackie: I'm finding it easy.
Speaker 1: Yeah, good. You looked comfortable.
Jackie: Yeah, I think even if you had never been on a bicycle before, it's pretty, as long as you have your little hands on these brakes here, it gives you the confidence that you're in control.
Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm 30 and I still like to keep my hands hovering over those brakes as well. You're good.
Jackie: I mean, you're not going to do an extreme sport. I'm not going to go do Iron Man on this, so it feels very leisurely.
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good transition if you haven't ridden a bike, like you said, in maybe 30 years. You can just get on and you're balanced. You don't have to worry about the two wheels, right?
Jackie: Right.
Speaker 1: Awesome. Okay, great. Could you see yourself riding or purchasing something like this and riding it around your neighborhood?
Jackie: Oh yeah. I do. I feel, you get in the car and you just feel so guilty. I have an EV half-half, but it's...
Speaker 1: Electric.
Jackie: It's hard to get it charged up and that's all going to be changing. In the next 10 years, we're going to see charging stations everywhere and more bike lanes.
Speaker 1: Yeah. Awesome. Okay, so for the last little jaunt, I'll maybe just have you ride. Could you maybe ride to those bleachers or as far as you feel comfortable?
Jackie: Sure.
Speaker 1: Okay, great. And then if you need to hit the brakes when you're turning, just to feel a little more at ease, feel free. Just don't go super fast on the turns is my only recommendation, just so you feel in control. But yeah, I'll just kind of stay here and get you from afar. So if you want to keep riding.
Jackie: I will. I'll go slow because I've been watching NASCAR all weekend.
Speaker 1: Okay, great. Whenever you're ready, feel free.
Jackie: Okay, here we go.
Speaker 1: And just make sure it's on.
Jackie: It is on.
Speaker 1: Yep. Okay. It looks like you're ready to go.
Jackie: It's got its little kick. You do a little pedal.
Speaker 1: Pedal Assist one. Yep. She's on pedal assist, one.
Jackie: And we're going downhill.
Speaker 1: Yep. Use your brake.
Jackie: But I've got my brake.
Speaker 1: Yep. You got your brakes. You look great. Awesome. Nice turn. You can hit the throttle if you need a little power.
Speaker 3: How do you like it?
Jackie: I'm loving it. Stick it in my Prius, let's go. [inaudible 00:08:55] electric. I'm environmentally friendly. I'm feeling good. I'm not leaving a carbon trail, you guys, and I'm moving.
Speaker 3: How is it for you to control? Pretty easy?
Jackie: It is, very. It takes some practice. I wouldn't advise getting on and hitting downtown LA, but yeah. No, you got that brake right there. So it makes you feel confident. Okay. Look at that. That was a tricky thing and I did it.
Speaker 3: How is it getting used to the electric?
Jackie: I don't think it's any different.
Speaker 3: Yeah?
Jackie: I mean it kicks in when you pedal and then it kicks in and then you get to take a little break.
Speaker 3: Have you tried the throttle at all?
Jackie: I haven't felt quite ready for the throttle, but let's do it. Wait until... I'm not going to do it on a turn.
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Jackie: Oh my God.
Speaker 3: Just tap it with your thumb.
Jackie: Are you going to be coming to ask me to go on your Olympic plane next, I know.
Speaker 3: Just touch it. Just touch it. Ease into it.
Jackie: Yeah. It gives you that little kick over the finish line.
Speaker 1: Yep. And Jackie turned.
Jackie: I'm so proud.
Speaker 1: She turned around. She said she was proud, which is a hard thing to do on a tricycle at first. Awesome. Well, there's Jackie's first ride. She's coming down the hill with a little more...
Jackie: I'm on two already.
Speaker 1: Speed and confidence.
Jackie: Oh my god. It's very, very...
Speaker 1: Good turn too.
Jackie: It feels like part of you.
Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, great. I love that.
Jackie: I'm going to go faster.
Speaker 1: Okay. We'll see you later, Jackie.
Jackie: Bye. Thanks for the bike.
