Innovative Recumbent Trike...That's Electric! An E Trike Like a Mobility Scooter but With Pedals!

A recumbent e-trike you're gonna wanna see.

Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have nearly 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry, and today I'm gonna show you the Easy Rider Compact Recumbent Trike from sixthreezero. I just thought I'd start this video sitting on this because this is ultra, ultra-comfortable. I got my armrests here, I got my backrest, I got the pedals right here, handlebars into my body. I can just rest my arms here. This thing is like a dream for comfort. And if you're looking for a trike where you can be relaxed with your back upright, and maybe you also want it to be your mobility device, this is the E-Trike for you. And let me go ahead and walk you through everything about this electric trike. All right, so the seat is adjustable forward and backward. I've got it all the way up right now. Now, when we go to production on this, it'll be adjustable for riders 4'11 to 6'4, so you can find that perfect... Uh, seat range I'm five foot ten. So we're gonna allow the seat to come forward another few inches so, uh, shorter riders can be accommodated on this style as well. Now, some really cool features other than this awesome seat with the backrest is you've got a 750-watt front hub motor. You've got a 15 amp hour battery so you can get up to 50 miles of range. And you can get going up to 16 miles an hour. It's really quick. We're gonna do a riding test with you, with me, and I'll show you. Another cool feature is right here, you've got a fully adjustable handlebar.

So you can find the perfect position for you. Oops. And you don't have to use any tools or anything. Just gotta get these cables out of the way. There we go. And you can bring these into your body. clamp that down, and now you find what's right exactly for your body. You can even, oops, sorry, I gotta unlock it right here. Trying to muscle through it, there we go. So from here you can kinda just sit, see what you like, adjust your screen, clamp that down, and now we're sitting pretty here. So the stem's also foldable as well. You can fold this down, there's a button here, The handlebars will fold down if you need to transport it or put it in the back of a car. Now you still have the back seat up here, so it won't reduce it that much, but it's nice to have that. You have front and rear disc brakes. You have three disc brakes, one on each rear wheel, and one on the front. Your motor's up here. You got a light in the front here. Your battery is mounted back here under the seat. We've got a 16-inch front tire and 20-inch rear tires, and I'm going to show you how easy it is to turn and how balanced this is it's cool and easy to ride now right now we have an automatic gear hub on here as well, meaning as you pedal, it shifts. We're going to switch that to a seven-speed derailleur for the production model. But it's still a very smooth ride. I'll show you how it all works. It's not going to be that much different but you'll be able to control the gears. In this case, they shift automatically. you have a twist throttle here as well, so you can get going without pedaling. And that's the cool thing. As a mobility device, you can use this around town or you can pedal and get exercise. It doubles as both.

So the choice is up to you as to how you're going to use it on any given day. And if you want to drive this around, like I said, a community, just use the throttle. You have that choice. You've got parking brakes here. so you can engage those, now the bike won't move anywhere. Which is nice. And, uh, yeah. We're gonna go ahead and get all set up, get my helmet on I'm gonna take you on a ride all right so first thing you do is you turn your battery on down here. Okay. And a little blue light comes on. Then I turn my power on up here. Full-color display. and from there, I'm pedal assist one and we're off and riding. I mean, you can see I can keep my elbows on the armrest. And then I can just shift up easily if I want to go a little faster. Now the cool thing, like I said, is this can be like your mobility device. So I could just come right here and I can use the throttle. Now let's see if we can do this. This will be a real challenge. I'm gonna go down this ramp right here. This may be too difficult, but let's see. Oh, what do you know? Yep. So... Here we have it. So this really can double as your mobility device. And then when you don't wanna use the throttle, you can get out and get some exercise. So let's keep going this way. All right, so I'm 220 pounds. We're gonna wait a second, then I'm gonna show you how I can get up this hill too. thank you all right here we go. Now I'm only in level three right now. I'll go ahead and push this up to level five. From there we can start cruising up the hill. Oh, took a pine cone out. Okay, I'm gonna make a left here. And you can see turning, this stays balanced. All right, let's do a little demo here. Again, if I can go on sidewalks. And look at the lean here, and I have no risk of falling over at all.

The geometry is so good. all right let's cruise back and show you the downhill braking notice I'm not pedaling at all just going throttle right now here we go. You know, another thing about this trike is steering with one hand is easy. So if you just wanted to rest one arm and go at a casual pace, it's really low to the ground and balanced. All right, just to show you how maneuverable this is, I'm just gonna go through these cones. and just kind of demonstrate if this were to be your little, you know if this were to be your device to get around, but you still want to pedal, you can see how easy it is to steer and how all three wheels are staying completely balanced on the ground. Now you'll get used to the throttle. And then one other thing I want to show you. now this is a tilted surface right here. If you want to come straight in the middle, come right here in the middle. Yep. Now you can see this is tilted. So if I, if I drive and I let go of the handlebars, Whoa, they start to go this way, but I just want to show how I don't have to lean. I don't have to do anything. You can see, that I let go. This thing goes here, but this is just super stable. I feel nothing in terms of, you know, falling over. It's so easy to drive and keep balanced. I think the other thing too is the braking power is good. Gonna come at full speed. And just like that, no squeaking, nothing. The brakes are great.
