QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
What type of brakes does the 3 speed have? Coaster? Why is the 3 speed more expensive that the 7 speed? Thanks
Greetings, and thank you for your inquiry.
The Women's Cruisers, EVRYjourney, and Around the block models with a 3 speed will all have a Coaster brake (pedal brake). The Around The Block and EVRYjourney models will also have a hand brake for the front wheel. The only exception to this is the Ride In The Park and Explore Your Range models, in a 3 speed, will have a freewheel and hand-brakes only.
The price difference between a 3 speed and a 7 speed is a common question, and it is because the manufacturing cost of the Shimano Nexus3 internal hub gear system is higher than that of a 7 speed with a derailleur. This is the only reason for the price discrepancy.
Thanks again, and please let us know if you have any other questions, we are happy to help.
