Hi, it's Diane, and I'm back at sixthreezero. This time I got to spend a morning with the ANYterrain 4-Wheel Electric Bike, and I'll be honest with you: I was excited about this one long before I ever swung a leg over it. Going back uphill later, I gave myself a little throttle just to get going, then settled into pedal assist two, and it worked really well even on the climb. The whole time I was optimizing: when do you use throttle, when do you use pedal assist? Once you get the rhythm, it becomes second nature.
The seven-speed gearing is the third piece, and it lets you fine-tune your effort on top of the electric assist. At one point I was cruising along in pedal assist one and fourth gear, pedaling comfortably while the motor just took the edge off. That combination, low assist and a comfortable gear, is a lovely way to cover ground.
