Seniors Have a Blast on E Trikes! Senior Riders 81 & 67 Find the Perfect Electric Tricycles

Come along as we take an electric trike ride with over 60 riders. Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. I have 20 years of experience in the bike and e-bike industry, and today I'm joined by Constance, who's 81 and a half, turning 82 in September, and Phyllis, who's just 67, no half, no quarter, just kidding. And we are going to take an electric trike ride together just down the street and around. Today's their first time. Neither of them has been on electric trikes. Constance has fallen in love with the Simple Glide Recumbent E-trike here. And Phyllis is riding the electric Rickshaw. They both got another video of them taking a little jaunt together with Constance on the back so we're just going to go for a little ride. I'm on the Easy Transit. I love this e-trike also, so you can see in another video too, them test riding and choosing their favorite. Although maybe there's a little giveaway as to what they're riding right now based on what they chose. But check out that video and let's go for a little ride.

Dustin: All right, Constance, we're ready when you are. Are you all powered up and ready? Go for it.

Constance: Here we go.

Dustin: You can go next, Phyllis. I'll bring up the rear. I'm going to take us out into the street too.

Constance: Okay, I'll trail.

Phyllis: Which way, right or left?

Dustin: Let's go to the right.

Phyllis: Okay. Oh, how cool is this? Oh my gosh.

Constance: What a gorgeous ride this is.

Phyllis: Woo!

Dustin: Nice day for a bike ride, huh? 

Phyllis: I know, I was thinking the same thing.

Constance: Alright, we gotta turn around now. Okay.

Dustin: Good job, Constance.

Constance: It's so fantastic. It is. I mean, this is such a gift.

Dustin: Yeah, that thing's like a true mobility device, you know?

Constance: Yeah, and I really should tell people, that if your legs are weak, you can have the time of your life on one of these.

Dustin: All right. Well, we just completed our probably, what, one or two-mile jaunt. And Constance, you wanted to share something about your experience in that trike in particular, right?

Constance: Yes, I do. I want to say that when you get elderly, you lose a lot of strength in your legs. And don't be afraid to get one of the bikes. It'll give you your legs back. You don't have to worry. You can pedal if you want. You can build up your strength that way. But you don't have to. You can just sit back, hit the throttle, and off you go. I am so pleased. I never... You know, my son kept saying, Mom, will you try an e-bike, Mom? And I'm thinking, oh, yeah, because he likes to race motorcycles and he'll, you know, this will be way beyond my capacity. But it's not. I love it so much.

Dustin: And we just took you out into the oncoming traffic, too, in a bike lane.

Constance: We were in a bike lane. Oh, my gosh. We were out there with the way life is out on the main streets. Stop signs, bike lanes, and people were very courteous too.

Phyllis: They were, yeah.

Constance: Even when we were doing U-turns over and over in the middle of the street.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Dustin: And how did you, you said you felt fine up the hill with this, enough power, easy?

Phyllis: Yeah, held its own, plenty of power, yeah.

Dustin: And how about you Constance, you did that hill.

Constance: Oh yeah, I sure did. I mean, it was no, you know, if the bike only knew what I weighed, it would go... I don't think we can make it, baby.
